"Antibiotic resistance in pathogenic bacteria", Special Topic Issue in Archives in Clinical Microbiology

iMedPub

Call for Papers:

"Antibiotic resistance in pathogenic bacteria", Special Topic Issue in Archives in Clinical Microbiology

Dear colleagues:
It is my pleasure to let you know I have been designated as Guest Editor to edit an special topic issue in Archives in Clinical Microbiology.

Archives of Clinical Microbiology (ISSN: 1989-8436) is a peer reviewed, international journal, withworld famous scientists on the editorial board. ACMicrob is a hybrid journal with rapid publication of articles in all fields and areas of microbiology and infectious diseases. Archives of Clinical Microbiology is entering its second year and it is currently indexed in EBSCO, DeepDyve, Open J Gate, Google Scholar, Open Archives Harvester and JournalSeek and indexing in other reputed search engines and databases is currently underway.

It will be focused in "Antibiotic resistance in pathogenic bacteria". This issue aims to disseminate investigations on:

1- Beta-lactams resistance, due to ESBL and cephalosporinase production as well as enzymatic carbapenem resistance, in Enterobacteriaceae is of major interest. However, resistance to others antibiotic families used in the treatment of human or animal infections is also interesting, especially that co-resistance or multidrug resistance is a specific trait of nosocomial strains (as well as infections in community). A specific interest will be also for plasmid mediated quinolones resistance and aminoside resistance in Enterobacteriaceae.

2- Methicillin resistance in Staphylococcus aureus. In this point we can highlight the importance to phenotypic detection of methicillin resistance in laboratories, and the alternative molecular methods that can be used. In second point in this subject, is the genetic support of methicillin resistance and the various structures of staphylococcal cassette chromosome mec (SCCmec).

3- Glycopeptides resistance in Enterococcus : phenotypes, genotypes and clonal spread in the world.

4- Resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis

5- Antibiotic resistance in intracellular bacteria such as Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Chlamydia trachomatis, Chlamidia genitalium…

6- The ecology of antibiotic resistance : a review about ways of dissemination of antibiotic-resistance between animal, human, and environment ; this means the tracability of genes encoding antibiotic resistance as well as clonal spread of specific clones that are actually described worldwide such as CC17 (vancomycin resistant E. faecium clone) in Enterococcus and ST131 (CTX-M-15 producer clone) in enterobacteria.

The main types of contribution are full-length articles, short communications and review articles.

The articles published are subjected to iMedPub's article processing charges. This charges are, by far, the lowest article processing charges of all medical publishers.

I hope we can count with your contributions soon. You can submit online here. Please, in the first step "Comments" write "This manuscript is for for the special issue Antibiotic resistance in pathogenic bacteria".

Looking forward to receive your manuscripts.
Best wishes
